Signature Projects: Modern with a View

For this Fallbrook transformation, preserving the property’s beautiful views was just as important as creating a safer, more functional outdoor living space.

We began by removing all of the existing concrete, repairing and repainting portions of the decking, and replacing the outdated railing with a sleek modern cable railing that keeps sightlines open throughout the yard. A new system of steps also created safe, comfortable access up and down what had previously been a very difficult hillside.

The completed landscape includes two new patio covers, a custom BBQ island, and a beautiful water feature that became a focal point without competing with the surrounding views. Just outside the kitchen door, we added a convenient bar and serving area with a glass-front refrigerator and additional counter space—perfect for entertaining.

Low-color, high-texture tropical planting finished the landscape, adding lushness and movement while keeping the overall design sophisticated and restrained.

The result is a layered, highly functional outdoor space that feels modern and inviting while allowing the incredible Fallbrook setting to remain the star.
